Small Dog Resources

Both of these databases allow rescues and shelters to upload their available pets. Recommend you specify the size (and know that large-breed puppies will often show up as small dogs) and select a radius of at least 100 miles for the search. If you are looking for a specific breed, you can filter for that breed.

Please note DAWG is not endorsing any of the listed resources. Small dogs are highly desirable and get adopted very quickly. People interested in small dogs or specific breed small dogs from some of these resources should be prepared for a comprehensive adoption application and adoption fees in the $$hundreds or higher. Many of the resources do not have the staff to accept phone calls. Nearly all have Facebook pages
